Meet Lynn

President and Founder, Professional Counselor, Parent/Life Coach and Catholic Child of Divorce

Hello! My name is Lynn Cassella-Kapusinski, and I am the President and Founder of the Faith Journeys Foundation, Inc.

Faith Journeys is born from my own childhood experience. You see, I myself am a child of divorce, and now I've dedicated my life to providing for other children what I wish existed for me.

I'm well aware of the unique nature of divorce grief experienced by children and the difficulties involved in growing from it to create a happy, holy, lifelong marriage.

My parents separated when I was 11, then divorced five years later.

At that time, churches and schools were not offering support programs for children from divorced families, so my older brother and I formed our own two-person group. It was a tremendous consolation to have this “safe place” and peer support to work through the changes occurring in my family.

In my thirties, statistics regarding the higher divorce rate and other problems associated with children of divorce weighed heavily on my mind. One question nagged at me: “What enabled me to beat these odds?”

Stable parenting from my mother and decreased conflict between my parents helped appreciably. However, I knew my faith, Catholic upbringing, and that support group were critically important in keeping me “anchored.” I wanted to help other children access similar resources.

I volunteered as a facilitator for other organizations offering groups for children of divorce, but found their programs very lacking. I discovered what was needed was a structured curriculum that offered children an emotional and spiritual framework and “building process” for working through their grief. This curriculum also needed to guide children in incorporating Christian teachings and wisdom into the healing solution.
